Migration (Upgrade) from Netscape or Red Hat Directory Server to HP-UX Directory Server 8.10.05 (5900-3099, May 2013)

Case-2:
Ex: dc=example,dc=com
In this case, replication works fine after migration.
To ensure replication works in Case-1, see Upgrading Servers in Replication for suffix with spaces between the domain
components.
The process for upgrading servers in replication is the same as for a single server, but the order in
which the Directory Server instances are upgraded is important to keep from interrupting the
replication process. First upgrade all the supplier servers, followed by all hubs, and then all
consumers.
Always stop directory writes to the master or hub server before beginning the upgrade
process.
After upgrading all of the master servers, upgrade all the hubs and, then all the consumer
replicas.
Once the Directory Server instances are upgraded, test the replication to make sure it is
working correctly.
Upgrading Servers in Replication for suffix with spaces between the
domain components
1. Find and delete the replication agreements on the master and hub.
Find the replication agreements as shown below:
#grep -E '^dn:\ cn=.*cn=replica.*cn=.*cn=mapping\ tree.* \
cn=config' /etc/opt/dirsrv/slapd-instance_name/dse.ldif
Delete the replication agreements as shown below:
#/opt/dirsrv/bin/ldapdelete -h <hostname> -p <port> -D \
"cn=directory manager" -w <password> 'cn=<agreement name>,\
cn=replica, cn="<suffix>", cn=mapping tree, cn=config'
2. Find and delete the cn=replica entry on the master, hub and consumer.
Find the cn=replica entry as shown below:
#grep -E '^dn:\ cn=replica.*cn=.*cn=mapping\ tree.*cn=config' \
/etc/opt/dirsrv/slapd-instance_name/dse.ldif
Delete the cn=replica entry as show below:
#/opt/dirsrv/bin/ldapdelete -h <hostname> -p <port> -D \
"cn=directory manager" -w <password> 'cn=replica, cn="<suffix>",\
cn=mapping tree, cn=config'
3. Upgrade the directory server instance. For more information, see Upgrading from HP-UX
Directory Server 8.10.X.
4. After migration, assign the role for all replicas. For more information, see the HP-UX Directory
Server Administrator Guide.
