The SD tool will add the following iSCSI references to an HP-UX host configuration:
• iscsial
The iscsial statement in the /stand/system file results in the inclusion of the iSCSI adaptation layer in
the kernel build. The adaptation layer is required for any iSCSI operation to be executed.
• iscsi
The iscsi statement in the /stand/system file results in the inclusion of the iSCSI transport layer in the
kernel build. The iSCSI transport layer is required for any iSCSI operation to be executed.
• isw
The isw statement in the /stand/system file results in inclusion of the iSCSI Software Interface Driver in
the kernel build, and execution of the iswd daemon during system startup.
NOTE After the /stand/system file has been updated and the iSCSI Software Initiator has been
successfully installed on the system, the kernel will be rebuilt and the system will be rebooted
by the SD tool.
NOTE The iSCSI Software Initiator defines no kernel tunable variables.
