consecutive logical extents are NOT guaranteed to be
located on different physical volumes. See lvchange (1M)
for more information.
non-strict Physical extents that belong to the same logical extent
can be allocated on the same physical volume or physical
volume group.
PVG-strict Mirror copies for a logical extent are not allocated on the
same physical volume group.
strict Mirror copies for a logical extent are not allocated on the
same physical volume.
IO Timeout (Seconds)
The IO timeout used by LVM for all IO to this logical volume. A value of
default, indicates that the system will use the value of "forever". (Note: the
actual duration of a request may exceed this timeout value when the underly-
ing physical volume(s) have timeouts which either exceed this value or are not
integer multiples thereof.)
Below are additional fields displayed with snapshots and logical volumes having snapshots.
Number of snapshots
The number of snapshots associated with the logical volume. Note that this
field is only displayed for the original logical volume and for volume group ver-
sion 2.2 or higher.
Associated snapshots
Lists all the associated snapshots with the logical volume. Note that this field
is only displayed for the original logical volume and for volume group version
2.2 or higher.
Pre-allocated LE
Number of pre-allocated extents in the logical volume. Note that this field is
only displayed for space efficient snapshot logical volume and for volume
group version 2.2 or higher.
Current pre-allocated LE
Number of logical extents that are pre-allocated currently in the logical
volume. Note that this field is only displayed for the space efficient snapshot
logical volume and for volume group version 2.2 or higher.
Unshared LE Number of logical extents that are allocated (unshared) in the logical volume.
Note that this field is only displayed for snapshots and for volume group ver-
sion 2.2 or higher.
Current pre-allocated PE
Number of physical extents that are allocated (unshared) in the logical
volume. Note that this field is only displayed for space efficient snapshot logi-
cal volume and for volume group version 2.2 or higher.
Original LV The block device path name of the original logical volume associated with the
snapshot logical volume. Note that this field is only displayed for the snapshot
logical volume and for volume group version 2.2 or higher.
Timestamp Time at which the snapshot logical volume was created. Note that this field is
only displayed for the snapshot logical volume and for volume group version
2.2 or higher.
Auto Pre-allocation
This field indicates if the automatic increase of pre-allocated extents is
enabled or not. Note that this field is only displayed for the space efficient
snapshot logical volumes on volume group version 2.2 or higher.
Threshold Percent
This field indicates the threshold percentage. Note that this field is only
displayed for the space efficient snapshot logical volumes on volume group ver-
sion 2.2 or higher.
