Remarks
The
lanadmin, lanscan, and linkloop commands are deprecated. These commands will be
removed in a future HP-UX release. HP recommends the use of replacement command
nwmgr to per-
form all network interface-related tasks.
DESCRIPTION
The
nwmgr program is the unified command to administer all LAN and RDMA-based interfaces of HP-
UX. General information about the command as a whole can be found in the nwmgr(1M) manpage. This
page describes nwmgr as applied to the IPoIB driver.
Internet Protocol over InfiniBand (IPoIB) allows IP applications to operate over InfiniBand (IB) networks.
The IPoIB driver makes available LAN interfaces (see lan (7)) for IB ports on the IB host channel
adapters (HCAs) installed on the system. See ipoib (7) for more information about IPoIB technology.
The IPoIB driver manages each IPoIB interface. For IPoIB interfaces, attributes are set by the IB HCA.
Attributes of an IPoIB interface cannot be set by the administrator directly on IPoIB interface.
For IPoIB, some attributes apply to the IPoIB interface and some apply to a link that forms an IPoIB
interface.
To view the command line help for IPoIB, use the following command:
nwmgr -h -S ipoib [-v]
The
-v option displays verbose help message.
To view the list of IPoIB interfaces, use the following command:
nwmgr [-g] -S ipoib [-v]
Note that
-g is the default option.
The form without the verbose option displays a table, with one row for each interface that gets listed.
To view IPoIB interface’s attributes, use the following command:
nwmgr -g -S ipoib -c lanipoib_ppa [-v]
To view the IPoIB interface’s Link level attributes, use the
-v option with the -g option in above com-
mand.
The form without the verbose option displays a table, with one row for the specified interface.
The verbose option in above command lines changes the output to include more details about each inter-
face that is displayed, and also changes the format to be line-oriented, with each line describing one attri-
bute. The attributes displayed are listed in Attributes section below.
To view all or some attributes of the IPoIB interface, use the following command:
nwmgr -g -A { all | attribute... } -c lanipoib_ppa
One or more attributes can be specified separated by comma. When
all is specified, all of the attributes
are displayed. The list of valid attributes are given in Attributes section below.
