2 License management
This chapter describes the licensing models and types of licenses available for Matrix OE, and
explains how to add and apply licenses.
Two categories of Matrix OE licenses are available: for on-site managed systems and for public
cloud managed instances.
End-user license agreement
Your use of Matrix OE is subject to the terms of the end-user license agreement included with the
software. Please read this document at its installed location on the CMS:
HP-UX CMS /opt/vse/src/README
Microsoft Windows CMS installation-directory\src\README
The default installation directory is C:\Program Files\HP\
Virtual Server Environment, but this directory can be
changed at installation time.
Matrix OE managed system licenses
Matrix OE is licensed for use on managed systems as shown in Table 4 (page 19). Licenses are
managed from the CMS using the HP SIM License Manager database.

To obtain a permanent License To Use (LTU) for Matrix OE, contact your HP sales representative,
your HP services representative, or your authorized HP reseller. The available licenses are listed
in the sections that follow.
