HP Matrix Operating Environment 7.2 Getting Started Guide

Resources accessible via these services are represented as Cloud Resources inside Matrix OE.
Cloud Resources can be added to a server pool in the same way as any other VM Host or ESX
Resource Pool.
Two white papers provide more detailed descriptions. They explain how to configure Matrix OE
for bursting and how to provision to an external cloud with Matrix infrastructure orchestration.

Managing Public Cloud instances with Matrix OE
Beginning with Matrix OE 7.2, every traditional, node-based Matrix OE license includes rights to
manage one public cloud instance at an HP-supported public cloud service provider. Additional
public cloud instances may be managed through the acquisition of Matrix OE public cloud managed
instance licenses.
Each Matrix OE Public Cloud Managed Instance license allows you to manage one public cloud
instance hosted at an HP-supported public cloud service provider. The license term is one year
from the license purchase date. Matrix OE public cloud instance license are not keyed, and are
not managed under the HP SIM License Manager.
Multiple licenses can be used together under a concurrent use model. For example, if you purchase
10 licenses, you can manage up to 10 public cloud instances at any one time.
Public cloud managed instance licenses are not tied to a particular service provider. You can use
the same license to manage an instance at one service provider today and another tomorrow, as
long as the license is not used for both instances at the same time.
For details on licensing, contact your HP sales representative.
