Installation Information
The associated patches and the instructions for installing the ShadowPassword bundle
are described in this section.
Required and optional enablement patches
The ShadowPassword bundle contains three kinds of products:
The ShadowPW product - new files to support Shadow Passwords.
The smallest necessary subset from the following corequisite patches: PHNE_23502,
PHCO_24402, PHCO_25526, PHCO_25568, PHCO_27036, PHCO_27037,
PHCO_27038, PHCO_27040, PHCO_27041, PHCO_27042, PHCO_27064,
PHCO_28192, PHCO_28194. (Any corequisite patch mentioned above will not be
installed if it has already been superseded by another patch on your machine.)
A number of optional patches, depending on the configuration of your system.
Patches PHSS_26492 and PHSS_26493 must be installed for you only if CDE is
present. Patch PHCO_28193 must be installed only if UUCP is present. Patch
PHCO_28176 must be installed only if the /usr/lbin/tsconvert command is
present. Patch PHCO_27035 defines the prototypes of new APIs. Patch PHCO_27909
updates the manual pages. If necessary, patch PHCO_23578 updates the Software
Distributor.
NOTE An optional patch will not be installed if the underlying product has been removed from
the system. For example, if the product UUCP has been removed, then PHCO_28193 will
not be installed. If the UUCP product is installed at some later point, then in order to
ensure correct functioning of the uucp command in shadow mode, the patch
PHCO_28193 must be installed as well.
