SNA connection over an IP-based network
SNAplus2 can be congured over an IP-based network using the Enterprise Extender feature. This can be further
congured for High Availability using ServiceGuard. The requirement for ServiceGuard is that you specify the
oating IP address associated with the SNAplus2 package and congure SNAplus2 to use the oating IP address
for connectivity.
The following failover scenarios are handled in the ServiceGuard setup:
LAN card failure
As shown in Figure D14, ServiceGuard handling LAN card failure, ServiceGuard sets up the oating IP address
over Card 0 and starts the SNAplus2 package. In the event of Card 0 failure, ServiceGuard will migrate the oating
IP address to the standby Card 1, and the Host can remain connected to the SNA server using the oating IP address.
