Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements

The prerequisites for installing SoftBench are listed in the Installing SoftBench manual. This

section describes additional installation information that is not covered in the manual. Refer

Compatibility Information

• ClearCase not Integrated with SoftBench 8.10

The integration of ClearCase withSoftBench was available till SoftBench 6.85 on PA.

ClearCase has not been integrated with SoftBench 8.10 on IPF.

• WDB-GUI is Bundled with SoftBench as the Default Debugger

SoftBench now provides an integration with WDB 4.0 and later versions.

WDB is not tightly integrated with SoftBench. When WDB is running within SoftBench,

WDB responds to START, STOP, ICONIFY, NORMALIZE, LOAD, and SET-BREAKPOINT

requests from the SoftBench tools. It does not honor program settings conﬁgured in the

SoftBench main window and make requests to the other tools.

• SoftBench 8.X Removes SoftDebug

Since DDE has been obseleted on IPF, SoftDebug has been removed from SoftBench 8.10

and WDB-GUI has been made the default debugger.
