1 HP-UX Trusted Computing Services Overview HP-UX Trusted Computing Services (TCS) provides software support for the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip on HP-UX Integrity servers. The TPM is a low-cost, embedded security chip available for select Integrity servers that provides hardware-enforced key management. TCS and TPM provide additional protection for cryptographic keys by ensuring a given private key can be utilized only with a specific and unique TPM chip mounted on a system board.
2 New and Changed Features in This Release HP-UX TCS version A.03.00 includes the following new features: • Support for TCS commands on TPM 1.2. Due to increased security requirements in the TSS 1.2 specification, the TPM password is required for some additional tpmlist and tmpadm options. Refer to tpmlist(1M) and tpmadm(1M) for details. • The TSS 1.2 API library /opt/tcs/lib/libtspi.so contains some additional functionality. This library supports both TPM 1.1 and 1.2 chips.
