2.3 Features of vPars Software by Release
This section outlines the features in brief for each of the supported vPars releases. For detailed
information, see the HP-UX Virtual Partitions Release Notes for a specific release.
For customers that are using previous versions of vPars, HP strongly recommends that you update
to the latest supported vPars version to take advantage of new features and product improvements.
2.3.1 vPars A.05.xx Releases
vPars A.05.09
Includes changes to support dynamic cores in HP Superdome 2 (SD2) vPars.
vPars A.05.08
Support to update vPars from HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3 to a mixed minor environment
HP-UX Virtual Partitions now supports mixing different minor releases of vPars. This enhances
the flexibility of using the vPars software. This feature is available only on HP-UX 11i v3 vPars
version 05.05 and later. On HP-UX 11i v2, only vPars version A.04.07 is supported along
with the HP-UX 11i v3 mixed minor version environment. Any other vPars version on an HP-UX
11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v1 Operating Environment is not supported.

Ability to set High Availability and alternate boot paths for vPars monitor from the MON
prompt
The mon_bootpath command now allows you to set either the Primary, HA, or Alternate
boot path for the vPars monitor.

Includes changes to enable vPars support on HP Superdome 2 (SD2) Integrity servers.
In SD2, the implementation of Virtual Partitions has changed. For more information, see the

Includes fixes customer reported problems and internally found defects.
