Description
HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager (VCEM) version 7.1 centralizes network connection
management and workload mobility for HP BladeSystem servers that use Virtual Connect (VC) to
access local area networks (LANs), storage area networks (SANs), and converged network
environments. VCEM helps organizations increase productivity, respond faster to workload and
infrastructure changes, and reduce operating costs.

HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager version 7.1 includes new enhancements and features.
Updating to HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager version 7.1 is recommended.
Supersedes
HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager version 7.1 supersedes HP Virtual Connect Enterprise
Manager version 7.0.

HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager version 7.1 adds new features including:
Support for HP Systems Insight Manager unattended backup capability.
Recovery of VC profiles from an inoperable enclosure.
More flexible profile listing.
Support of the CMS Reconfigure Tool—VCEM only supports the CMS reconfigure password
tool included in the CMS reconfigure tool set. For information on the CMS Reconfigure Tool,

Extended command line:
The -move profile command moves a server profile across VC domain groups.
The -remove profile command removes a server profile from VCEM.
The -add server-port-map-range command adds multiple network port maps to
a server profile.
The -remove server-port-map-range command removes multiple network port
maps from a server profile.
Expanded profile and network connection status in the CSV export CLI.
Support for VC FW 3.50 and 3.60.
Support for VC firmware update on VC 3.50 or later domains when used in combination with
VCSU 1.7.0 or later. You can enable a VC firmware update from the VCEM user interface
or from the VCEM CLI.
Bandwidth and port mapping information provided for profile connections.
Improved performance on profile editing operations.
