HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager 7.2 Release Notes

• Restricted the VC firmware update to not allow upgrading of a VC Domain firmware to VC
4.01 if the current firmware version is earlier than VC 3.30.
• Resolved the error that did not allow roles other than Administrator to create multiple server
profiles.
Multiple server profiles can now be created without having Administrator privileges.
• Resolved some minor issues such as blocking the user from removing a network from a multiple
networks configuration and other multiple networks configuration usability issues.
• Determined and repaired the issue that caused logical server deactivation to fail due to a
server with a powered ON state.
• MxSync no longer fails with VC Domains that are in firmware update mode.

• VCEM 7.2 can be used for an initial VCEM installation, or it can be used to update existing

Commands report error
The mxreconfig and vcem.bat command line operations fail on VCEM 6.3.1 and on any
VCEM installation through 7.2 which has been upgraded from VCEM 6.3.1 with the following
error:
Unable to access jarfile mvcd-database.jar
The VCEM v6.3.1 patch installer incorrectly leaves a temporary copy of the vcem.bat file in the
lib folder of the HPSIM path. This file is an auxiliary batch file used only during patch installation
and should have been removed by the patch process. This temporary file has the same name as
the vcem.bat CLI file. Due to environment classpath variables, the cmd prompt runs the temporary
file rather than the correct vcem.bat file which is part of the VCEM product.
