Installing HP WebQoS

Checking System Prerequisites
Before installing HP WebQoS, check that your system meets all of the necessary
prerequisites.
HP-UX Prerequisites
Computer: HP 9000 server
Operating
System: HP-UX 11.0
Memory: At least 128 MB
Disk Space: 90 MB: 80 MB to install the WebQoS bundle and at least 10 MB for working
files
Web Server: iPlanet Web Server 4.1 SP2 or Zeus Web Server 3.3.6 (For HP LocalDirector
Controller, you can also use Netscape FastTrack Server version 3.0 or later)
Kernel
parameters: Kernel parameters are described in the manual Configuring HP WebQoS on
HP-UX. After installing WebQoS, the manual is in the following location:
/opt/webqos/docs/install_config_guide.pdf.
Other: For HP LocalDirector Controller, Cisco LocalDirector version 2.1 or later.
PC Prerequisites
Operating
System: Windows 95, 98, or NT 4.0
Memory: At least 64 MB
Disk Space: 17 MB for the management user interface, 3 MB for HP OpenView Service

Upgrading to WebQoS 2.2
If you are upgrading from a previous version of WebQoS, you need to run the following
command before you install WebQoS 2.2:
/opt/webqos/install/setup -r
Then follow the instructions in “Installing the WebQoS Software” in this release note to
install WebQoS 2.2. Do NOT remove your earlier WebQoS version. Otherwise, your
configuration data will be lost. Your existing management data is preserved when you install
the new software. After installing WebQoS 2.2, run
/opt/webqos/install/setup
