HP XC System Software Administration Guide Version 3.2

The file systems can be either of the following:
External to the node, but internal to the HP XC system. “Mounting Internal File Systems
Throughout the HP XC System” (page 217) describes this situation.
The use of csys is strongly recommended. For more information, see csys(5).
External to the HP XC system. “Mounting Remote File Systems” (page 222) describes this
situation.
NFS mounting is recommended for remote file system mounting.
18.3 Mounting Internal File Systems Throughout the HP XC System
This section describes how to mount a file system on a disk on one node of the HP XC system
to other nodes in the HP XC system using the following example:
Consider an HP XC system whose nodes have the prefix n. A file system is resident on a disk
attached to n60 (this node has the disk_io role); the device name of that file system is
/dev/sdb1. The task is to mount the file system remotely on nodes n61, n62, and n63 at the
mount point /scratch.
Figure 18-1 depicts the relationship between the nodes.
