4. Follow the same process to open and search the log files for customizations specific to Linux
configuration files.
The file you view depends on the type of upgrade you performed. Search the files for configuration
files that have either an .rpmsave or an .rpmnew extension appended to them. This step is necessary
only if you know you changed standard Linux configuration files.
Major upgrade
# grep -E ".rpmsave|.rpmnew" /root/upgrade.log
Minor upgrade
# grep -E ".rpmsave|.rpmnew" /var/log/yum_upgrade.log
Proceed to “Task 8: Configure the System and Propagate the Golden Image”.
5.9 Task 8: Configure the System and Propagate the Golden Image
Follow this procedure to configure the upgraded system and propagate the new golden image to all client
nodes:
1. Back up the existing configuration and management database and migrate existing data to the new
release format:
# upgradesys
Command output is similar to the following:
The upgradesys utility performs all the necessary steps
to upgrade your cluster. This script should be run immediately
after you have upgraded the head node with the latest XC software
and any third party vendor rpms.
