HP XC System Software Installation Guide Version 4.0

NOTE: Table 6-1 (page 95) describes each prompt and provides information to help you with
your answers.
1. If an InfiniBand (IB) interconnect is in use, specify whether you want to configure IB bonding:
Configuring system wide functions / policies / behaviors
Executing C02hptc_cluster_sfs sconfigure
Executing C02ibbond sconfigure
Do you want to configure IB bonding (y/n)? [n]:
IB bonding only applies if the hardware configuration has multiple IB connections. If you
do not configure IB bonding, you will not have redundancy.
NOTE: IB bonding is not supported with SFS Version G3.0-0.
2. Specify whether or not you want to configure some services to run over the interconnect
rather than the administrative network.
Executing C02ssh_config sconfigure
Executing C03avail sconfigure
Do you want to configure some services to run on the
interconnect network instead of the administration network y/n [n]:
If you answer yes, you are prompted to specify where you want to run the following services.
Enter a to run the services over the administration network, or enter i to run services over
the interconnect.
ntp [a]admin network or [i]interconnect (a/i)? [a]:
ldap [a]admin network or [i]interconnect (a/i)? [a]:
nat [a]admin network or [i]interconnect (a/i)? [a]:
dbserver [a]admin network or [i]interconnect (a/i)? [a]:
hptc_cluster_fs [a]admin network or [i]interconnect (a/i)? [a]:
3. Accept the default value when you are prompted to enter the number of NFS daemons
required on the system:
Executing C10cluster_fstab sconfigure
Executing C20sysparams sconfigure
NFS daemon tuning:
Given that there are [number_of_nodes] nodes in this cluster, enter the number of
NFS daemons that shall be configured to support them [8]: Enter
The default value for the number of NFS daemons scales according to the number of nodes
in the system. The default value represents the number of NFS daemons required on the
head node to adequately support serving the /hptc_cluster file system. Table 6-2 lists
the default values.

4. Specify a quorum server node name or a full path to the lock LUN (for example, /dev/
sdb1, where 1 is the partition number) if you have configured availability sets to use
Serviceguard as the availability tool . See “Deciding on the Method to Achieve Quorum for
