preupgradesys output logged to
/var/log/preupgradesys/preupgradesys.log
The command output looks different depending upon the head node hardware model and
the interconnect type.
IMPORTANT: Do not proceed to the next step in the upgrade process if the output from
the preupgradesys script indicates failures. If you cannot determine how to resolve these
errors, contact your local HP support center.
Proceed to Section 9.5 (page 143).
9.5 Upgrading Linux and HP XC RPMs
An HP XC software upgrade uses the Anaconda Kickstart automated installation process, which
is invoked by booting from the HP XC DVD to access the ks_upgrade.cfg Kickstart upgrade
file.
Follow this procedure to upgrade the RPMs on the head node:
1. Make sure the DVD is still in the DVD drive, and reboot the head node:
# reboot
2. At the boot prompt, see the information in Table 9-5 (page 144), and enter the appropriate
boot command to start the upgrade process and specify the name of the Kickstart upgrade
file. The boot command line depends on the cluster platform chip architecture and how the
boot device was set.
