HP XC System Software Installation Guide Version 4.0

I LSF and SLURM Environment Variables
This appendix lists the default values for LSF and SLURM environment variables that are set by
the HP XC System Software installation process.
For more information about setting LSF environment variables and parameters listed in Table I-1,
see the Platform LSF Reference manual.
Table I-1 Default Installation Values for LSF and SLURM
Where is this Value
Stored?DescriptionDefault ValueEnvironment Variable
lsb.params file
This environment variable
controls how many jobs
are dispatched to a host
during a scheduling cycle.
Because the HP XC system
is considered one host
when LSF with SLURM is
installed, this value is set
to 0 to allow the scheduler
to dispatch as many jobs
as possible on HP XC
during each scheduling
cycle.
This value is set to 0 when
LSF with SLURM is
installed and is set to 1
when standard LSF is
installed
JOB_ACCEPT_INTERVAL
lsb.params file
Controls the maximum
number of files mbatchd
can have open and
connected to sbatchd.

SLURM scheduler plug-in.
6883LSB_RLA_PORT
lsf.conf file
This environment variable
is needed so that LSF
commands that are
launched from the rest of
the HP XC nodes know to
which nodes to send their
requests. This environment
variable is not needed for
standard LSF.
lsfhost.localdomainLSF_SERVER_HOSTS
lsf.conf file
Displays an abbreviated
list of hosts in bjobs and
bhist for a parallel job
when multiple processes
of a job are running on a
host.
