Use the following path to navigate to the Linux patch area on the ITRC:
ITRC Home Page →Downloads→Patch database →find individual patches →Linux
3. When you are at the Linux patch area, select hpxc as the vendor and version. On the drop
down menu to the right, select either 4.0-xc6000 (for IA64 RPMs) or 4.0-xc4000_xc3000
(for x86_64 RPMs).
4. Search for a keyword. Enter the string Lustre*SFS* in the text box.
5. Click Search>>.
6. Select the appropriate client package from the keyword search list.

SFS clients are built against the HP XC Version 4.0 kernel and all you need to do is download
the kit and follow the instructions to install the SFS client RPMs. Both SFS client kits are
patchless and do not require a patch to the kernel.
5.7.1.2 Installing SFS 2.3 Clients on HP XC Version 4.0
SFS 2.3 client installation instructions are located in the HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System
User Guide for Version 2.2 (Chapter 2: sections 2.1 and 2.2), which is available at the following

To install the SFS client RPMs for use with SFS 2.3 servers:
1. Unpack the SFS 2.3-0 tar file you downloaded from the ITRC website.
2. Install the SFS 2.3-0 client RPMs:

For Intel Itanium 2 architectures, replace the string x86_64 with ia64 in the RPM names.
NOTE: The generic naming convention for SFS RPM names is:

5.7.1.3 Installing SFS G3.0-0 Clients on HP XC Version 4.0
The installation instructions in this section assume that HP XC Version 4.0 is already installed
on the head node and that you have downloaded the appropriate SFS client kit packages from
the ITRC (described in Section 5.7.1.1 (page 80)).
To install an SFS client for use with SFS G3.0-0 servers, follow all steps described in this section.
5.7.1.3.1 Step 1: Install the SFS G3.0-0 Web-Enabler-Tool
To enable SFS G3.0-0 for HP XC Version 4.0, you must install the SFS G3.0-0 web-enabler-tool
on the SFS G3.0-0 Management Server (MGS) node:
