1.12 Changes to Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management
A new version of the Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management (SLURM), Version 1.2.25,
has been integrated with HP XC.
Various changes have been made to SLURM, including the renaming of the SLURM resource
limits, JobAcctLoc renamed to JobAcctLogfile, and a change to the JobAcctFrequency
parameter.
1.13 Support for HP Scalable File Share
Two versions of HP Scalable File Share (SFS) are supported for use with HP XC System Software
Version 4.0:
• SFS Version 2.3 (SFS 2.3), the most recent version of SFS server developed with value-added
features by HP. If you have previous experience with SFS, this version contains the legacy
tools you are accustomed to using.
• SFS Version 3.0-0 (SFS G3.0-0), the next generation of SFS server, is a qualification of the
Lustre file system provided by Sun Microsystems, Inc.
1.13.1 SFS Client Support Matrix
Table 1-2 lists the supported SFS client versions for SFS 2.3 and SFS G3.0-0.
IMPORTANT: See Section 2.2 (page 13) for information about the updated SFS client/server
support matrix that has been delivered in a patch to HP XC Version 4.0

SFS clients are built against the HP XC Version 4.0 kernel and all you need to do is download
the kit and follow the instructions to install the SFS client RPMs. Both SFS client kits are patchless
and do not require a patch to the kernel.
IMPORTANT: SFS 2.3 and SFS G3.0-0 client binaries are not interchangeable.
1.13.2 SFS Hardware Requirements
Table 1-3 lists the hardware requirements for SFS.
If the SFS server is not a ProLiant DL380 G5 server and you do not have an MSA2000fc storage
shelf, you cannot use SFS G3.0-0.
