HP XC System Software Release Notes for Version 4.0

If you do not stop the Nagios service before you run reset_db, the cluster_config utility
displays the following warnings:
Warnings:
Executing C50nagios gconfigure
Use of uninitialized value in hash element at /opt/hptc/perl/lib/XCCli.pm line
629.
Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string
at /opt/hptc/perl/lib/XCCli.pm line 645.
7.4 Benign sysctl Message When Network Service Is Restarted
It is safe to ignore the following message that is displayed on a tty console whenever an HP XC
command restarts the network subsystem (for instance, when the service network
restartcommand is run):
process `sysctl' is using deprecated sysctl (syscall)
net.ipv6.neigh.lo.retrans_time; Use net.ipv6.neigh.lo.retrans_time_ms instead
7.5 Benign collectl Message
The collectl utility displays messages similar to the following during boot time:
setitimer: collectl (pid = 5481) provided invalid timeval it_value: tv_sec = tv_sec = 9997011
The collectl utility performs this to check the incompatibility with HiRes and glibc. If an
incompatibility exists, collectl writes a message to the /var/log/collectl log file.
You can turn off this check by changing the value of TimeHiResCheck to 0 (zero) in the /etc/
collectl.conf file. Doing so only turns off the compatibility check and does not ensure the
problem is resolved.
7.6 Cannot Lock RRD Error If /hptc_cluster Is Not Mounted with flock
Option
If the HP Graph page is empty and Nagios is reporting (null) for Supermon Metrics Monitor
service, it is possible that the /hptc_cluster file system is not mounted with the correct options.
If XC is configured with SFS 2.3 and you mount the /hptc_cluster file system from the SFS
server, you must use "flock" as a mount option. Otherwise, this error is generated:
ERROR: could not lock RRD
7.7 Warning in shownode metrics load Output
You might see the following messages generated when you run the shownode metrics load
command:
# shownode metrics load
Timestamp |Node |1 min |5 min |15 min |# Running |# threads

To work around this issue, use one of the following commands to remove or move the contents
of the following directory:
# rm -rf /hptc_cluster/rrd/*
Or
# mv /hptc_cluster/rrd/* /hptc_cluster/rrd.OLD/
