To install Host Data Collector in a Solaris or Linux environment:
1. Insert the integrated installation media.
If the media is not mounted automatically, manually mount it onto the /mnt/dvdrom directory.
2. Move to the directory that contains the installer (setup.bin).
The installer is located in the following location:
DVD-drive/AGENTS/HHDC/platform-name/
3. Execute the following command:
# ./setup.bin
4. Follow the instructions in the displayed messages.
When the installation is successful, the following message appears:
Congratulations. Host Data Collector has been successfully installed to:

Notes on using Host Data Collector computers in a cluster configuration
Note the following when you use Host Data Collector computers in a cluster configuration.
All nodes in the cluster must have the same disk configuration. The same Host Data Collector in-
stallation destination (drive name and path name) must be used.
The Host Data Collector services (Host Data Collector and Host Data Collector Base Service) must
always be running on the standby node even if the executing node is being used.
If you want to change the Host Data Collector settings after installation, specify the same settings
for all nodes.
