Registering virtual WWNs in Device Manager
When using vMA to manage virtualization servers on which NPIV HBAs are used, execute the
createnpivinfo command to register the virtual WWN assigned to each virtual machine in Device
Manager.

Starting the virtual machines that you want to manage
Starting VMware Tools
Registering virtualization servers in Device Manager
Log in as a user with Administrator permissions (for Windows) or as a root user (for Linux)
Information to collect in advance
The host name or IP address of the virtualization server or VMware vCenter Server that manages
the virtualization server.
The user ID of the virtualization server or VMware vCenter Server that manages the virtualization
server.
The password of the virtualization server or VMware vCenter Server that manages the virtualization
server.
To register the virtual WWNs in Device Manager:
Execute the following command on the management server to register information of the virtual
WWNs in Device Manager.
In Windows:
installation-folder-for-the-Device-Manager-server\Server\tools\
createnpivinfo [-v] [host-name-or-IP-address user-ID password]
In Linux:
installation-directory-for-the-Device-Manager-server/Server/tools/
createnpivinfo [-v] [host-name-or-IP-address user-ID password]
-v
Specify this option to display details of the command execution result in the standard output.
The host names and virtual WWNs of virtual machines are output to the
npivmapping.properties file.
In Windows:
installation-folder-for-Device-Manager-server\Server\config\
npivmapping.properties
In Linux:
installation-directory-for-Device-Manager-server/Server/config/
npivmapping.properties
