Figure 23 Configuration example using a server computer that has two NICs
If you set up the configuration shown in Figure 23, set up routers, the management client, and the
management server so that the following devices can communicate with each other as shown by the
arrows in the figure:
XP12000/XP10000/SVS200 and the management client
XP12000/XP10000/SVS200 and the management server (the server computer whose IP address
is 10.0.0.100 in the figure)
Note that an IP address on the network to which the management client is connected (10.0.0.100
in the figure above) must be specified for the P9000 Command View AE Suite product settings below.
Do not specify a host name.
The setting for the computer on which the Device Manager Web server function is running (the
server.http.host property)
Device Manager settings in IPv6 environments
This section describes the settings required to use Device Manager in an IPv6 environment.
Limitations on Device Manager operations in IPv6 environments
Note the following limitations when you use Device Manager in an IPv6 environment:
Set up the OS so that both IPv6 and IPv4 can be used because, even if IPv6 is being used, IPv4
is also required for processing in the product.
You can only use global addresses as IPv6 addresses. Global-unique local addresses (site-local
addresses), and link-local addresses cannot be used.
When specifying the IP address or host name of the Device Manager server, we recommend that
you use the host name. If you specify an IPv6 address, in Internet Explorer 6 you might not be
able to connect to the Device Manager server or move from window to window.
Settings for linking with storage systems that support IPv6
If you use Element Manager to operate an XP24000/XP20000 storage system that is managed via
an IPv6 address, set either of the following values for the server.http.host property in the
server.properties file:
The IPv6 address of the computer on which the Device Manager server is installed
The host name of the computer on which the Device Manager server is installed
