Registering hosts using merge hosts
You can register hosts using Merge Hosts to manage and monitor the host.
Conditions for a target host:
It is not a mainframe host
It is not a virtual host
At least one WWN must be registered for the destination host
Items to check beforehand:
Source host name
1. From the Administration tab, select Managed Resources.
2. From the Hosts tab, select the line for the target host, and then click Merge Hosts.
3. Specify the source host, and then merge the hosts.
Confirm the merged host information from the resource tree view.
TIP:
You can merge not only hosts that were registered with host scan, but also hosts that are monitored
by Host Data Collector or Device Manager agent, by treating them as the source hosts.
About changing host settings and information
You can change host settings and update previously registered host information.
Depending on how a host was registered, there are two ways to change host settings and information:
Refresh Hosts
Edit Hosts
Choose the appropriate method to change host settings and information, depending on how the hosts
were registered and the operational status. For example, Refresh Hosts updates a host by obtaining
information from Host Data Collector or Device Manager agent. Edit Hosts allows the user to manually
change host settings.
The host editing method allows the user to manually change host settings.
TIP:
The settings for the host's WWN are not linked to the settings for the host group on the storage system
side. Use the ModifyPort command to change settings for host groups, or host mode options. For
