• Each line of the template file is no more than 1024 bytes in length, excluding the line feed char-
acter.
• In the top line, the header is specified in the following format:
Subject:email-title
Only one header is specified.
• In the second line from the top, a blank line is specified.
• In the third line from the top until the bottom line, the contents are specified.
• Parameters are specified in the following format:
${parameter-name}
The parameter name is case sensitive.

To apply changes to the template file, restart the services of P9000 Command View AE Suite products.
Sending SNMP traps to log files
In addition to storage systems , Device Manager can receive SNMP traps (SNMP version 1 only) from
switches and operation servers on networks, and then output those traps to the following log files:
• Event log or syslog
• P9000 Command View AE Suite shared trace log files (hntr2n.log)
• Device Manager trace log files (HDvMtracen.log)
• Trace log files (trace.log.n)

Output only if the severity level is Error, Critical, or Alert. For details about severity
levels, see Table 43.
Using the output information, resolve the problem by following the manual of the device that sent the
SNMP trap.
If integrated management software is linked with, you can centrally monitor the operational status of
all network resources, including the storage resources managed by Device Manager.
Information included in log files
The following SNMP trap information is output:
• Message ID indicating that a trap was received
• Sender (agent)
• Enterprise ID (enterprise)
• Generic trap number (generic)
• Specific trap number (specific)
