3. Install a Device Manager agent on the virtual machines.
CAUTION:
If you move a virtual machine from one virtualization server to another, you need to update (refresh)
the information of the source and destination virtualization servers in Device Manager. After
moving a virtual machine, if there are no volumes assigned to the source virtualization server,
manually delete the information about the source virtualization server from Device Manager.
If a virtual WWN was added or changed on VMware ESX 4.x or VMware ESXi 4.x, execute the
createnpivinfo command, and then refresh the information of the virtual machines and vir-
tualization server registered in Device Manager by using the GUI or CLI.
If a command device was configured or released on a virtual machine on VMware ESX 4.x or
VMware ESXi 4.x, restart the virtualization server.
If you change the host name of a virtual machine or remove a virtual machine on VMware ESX
4.x or VMware ESXi 4.x, make sure that you update the npivmapping.properties file
manually.
