HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Software 7.1.1 Administrator Guide (web) (TB581-96065, September 2011)

Device Manager agent version 7.1 or later must be installed on the application servers.
For details on the correspondence between copy pair operations and required Device Manager
agent versions, see Device Manager agent requirements for managing copy pairs on page 58.
RAID Manager version 01-25-03/01 or later must be installed on the application servers and
virtual command device server.
For details on how to install RAID Manager, see the relevant manual for RAID Manager.
If there are multiple NICs on the application server, the Device Manager agent and RAID Manager
must use the same IP address.
The horcm instance for relay must be running on the virtual command device server.
CAUTION:
If the HORCM_ALLOW_INST parameter is specified in the configuration definition file on the vir-
tual command device server, the default port number (34000+instance-number+1) must be
used for the RAID Manager initiator port of the application server.
If the virtual command device server is connected to a command device whose authentication
mode is enabled, you need to authenticate users by executing the raidcom command on the
application server before performing copy pair operations from the GUI or CLI. If the application
server OS is Windows, you need to authenticate users as a Device Manager agent service (HBsA
Service) execution user.
System configuration for managing copy pairs: Using an SVP (when defining copy pairs in
a configuration definition file)
The following figure shows an example of a configuration in which an SVP is used as a virtual command
device and copy pairs are managed by using a configuration definition file.
