HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Software 7.1.1 Administrator Guide (web) (TB581-96065, September 2011)

RAID Manager version 01-25-03/01 or later must be installed on the pair management server.
For details on how to install RAID Manager, see the relevant documentation for RAID Manager.
CAUTION:
You need to authenticate users by executing the raidcom command on the management server
before performing copy pair operations from the GUI or CLI. If the management server OS is
Windows, you need to authenticate users as a Device Manager agent service (HBsA Service) ex-
ecution user.
While copy pair operations are performed from the Device Manager GUI or CLI, do not perform
logout processing of user authentication for the storage system by directly executing a RAID
Manager command. If you do so, processing performed from the Device Manager GUI or CLI
might not finish properly. If you need to log out, stop the Device Manager agent service first.
If the user ID or password for the SVP is changed, the following changes must also be made from
the GUI:
1. From the Edit Storage Systems window of Device Manager, the new user ID or password for
the SVP must be set.
2. From the Configuration Setting window of Replication Manager, the configuration information
of the storage system whose settings were changed must be refreshed.
System configuration for managing copy pairs: Using an SVP (when defining copy pairs as
a device group)
The following figure shows an example of a configuration in which copy pairs defined as a device
group are managed by using an SVP as a virtual command device.
