Disk group configuration that does not allow backup (dynamic disk configuration)
In a dynamic disk configuration, you cannot back up a file system or database if, as shown in the
following figure, there is a logical volume that has not been mounted in the disk group in which the
target file system or database was created.
Figure 62 Disk group configuration that does not allow backup
In such a case, change the configuration to one of the following volume configurations:
Delete the logical volume that has not been mounted, from the disk group.
Mount the logical volume onto the file system so that the file system is eligible to be backed up.
For details on the relationship between file systems that can be backed up and the configuration of
the disk group, see Examples of disk group configurations usable by Application Agent on page 76.
After you have changed the volume configuration, execute the drmfsdisplay command with the
-refresh option specified to update the dictionary map files.
Notes on pair volume resynchronization in a cascade configuration
When you are performing pair volume resynchronization in a cascade configuration (a multi-layer
pair configuration), the status of the pair that follows the pair to be resynchronized (secondary
volume/primary volume and secondary volume) must be PSUS or SMPL.
If you perform a pair status check by using a backup, restore, or resynchronization command when
the status of the pair that follows the pair to be resynchronized is not PSUS or SMPL, the command
will result in an error and a message will be output.
