About REXX Library

To use Business Continuity Manager, you must have one of the following REXX libraries. Note that

with z/OS V1R9 or later, the REXX alternate library is provided in the standard installation.

• IBM Library for REXX on zSeries Release 4 (FMID HWJ9140)

• IBM Library for REXX on zSeries Alternate Library (FMID HWJ9143)

If neither of the above libraries is installed, install the REXX alternate library (FMID HWJ9143,

JWJ9144) from the installation tape or CD-ROM. The MCS for this FMID is included in the

distribution dataset number 1 in “Datasets Provided on Installation Tape” (page 15) or the file

number 1 in “Files Provided on Installation CD-ROM” (page 16).

Designing Storage

Operating Business Continuity Manager entails calculating the amount of device capacity and

memory that you require and planning accordingly. Device space requirements are affected by

whether your system logger service is on or off.

Required Device Capacity for Business Continuity Manager Log Data

Estimate the amount of Business Continuity Manager log data as follows, according to the log

output destination.

When System Logger Service is OFF

Table 10 (page 19) shows the amount of data when logs are output without the system logger
