3 Setting Up the Environment When Linking with P9000
Replication Manager
This chapter explains the environment setup when linking with P9000 Replication Manager. It also
explains how to set up port numbers, security, and IBM HTTP Server, which are all required to link
to Replication Manager. In addition, this chapter explains how to create initialization parameters
and a cataloged procedure for startup.

Overview of environment settings
This section explains how to configure the environment settings that are necessary for linking to
P9000 Replication Manager.
HTTPS connections can be established between P9000 Replication Manager and the P9000
Business Continuity Manager agent. For details on how to establish HTTPS connections, see “Setting
Up HTTPS Connections” (page 61).
In addition, for details on how to set up IBM HTTP Server for establishing HTTPS connections, see

General Procedure for Setting Up the Environment
Creating Configuration File Datasets
Notes on Changing Configuration Files with BCM
Perform the following operations as necessary if you use BCM to change the disk configuration
definition file, route list definition file, or copy group definition file while it is linked with P9000
Replication Manager:
If you use BCM to change a configuration file, the P9000 Replication Manager information
is not automatically updated. After you change the configuration file, perform a refresh
operation in P9000 Replication Manager to reacquire the information.
If necessary, update the initialization parameters of the BCM agent to match the changes in
the configuration file.
