HP P9000 Replication Manager Software 7.3.1-00 Configuration Guide

Properties of Device Manager Agent
Make sure Device Manager Agent properties (stored in the pair management server) are correct. For
details about the properties to be specified, see Setting up the prerequisite environment on page 47.
If you change the properties, restart Device Manager Agent.
Settings in the P9000 RAID Manager configuration definition file
Make sure that the specified settings in the P9000 RAID Manager configuration definition files are
correct, and the HORCM instances that correspond to these files can start without any problems. Also,
make sure that parameter formats and specified settings in the configuration definition files are
supported by Device Manager.
Items to be checked from Device Manager GUI
This section describes how to check information about hosts (pair management servers) that are
managed by Device Manager using the Device Manager GUI:
1. Recognition of Device Manager Agent, page 125
2. Recognition of the command device, page 125
3. Recognition of the replication configuration, page 125
For details about Device Manager GUI, see the HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite
Software Online Help.
Recognition of Device Manager Agent
Check the items below to make sure that Device Manager server correctly recognizes Device Manager
Agent on a host or pair management server that manages existing copy pairs:
Hosts or pair management servers that manage copy pairs are displayed in the host list.
A button to refresh host information is displayed in the host properties window.
If the above items are not displayed, Device Manager Agent and the connection-target Device Manager
server are not linked correctly. See Link between Device Manager server and Device Manager
Agent on page 124 to correct the problem.
Recognition of the command device
Check the following to make sure Device Manager server correctly recognizes the command device
that is allocated to the host or pair management server:
In the host properties window, make sure that the last updated date and time of LUs that correspond
to the command device are displayed. If not, refresh the host information.
If the last updated date and time are not changed, check the OS disk information on the pair
management server to make sure that LUs that correspond to the command device are correctly
recognized by the OS.
Recognition of the replication configuration
Make sure that Device Manager server correctly recognizes the replication configuration that is
managed by a host or pair management server.
