Acquiring configuration and license information
Replication Manager acquires the following information using Device Manager server:
• Copy pair configuration information
• Volume configuration information (including the command device, pool volumes, and journal
volumes)
• License information for the volume replication functionality
Device Manager server stores information acquired from storage systems, while Replication
Manager stores information acquired from Device Manager server.
Information for performing remote copy between multiple sites (in which a copy pair is defined
between multiple Device Manager servers) is acquired using Device Manager Agent because
this information cannot be retained by Device Manager server.
