HP P9000 Replication Manager Software 7.3.1-00 Configuration Guide

4. You must configure BCM as follows:
Set up RACF for user authentication
Specify the prefix and allocate datasets as follows for the definition files:
For disk configuration definition files, allocate datasets whose name includes a DADID
For copy group definition files, allocate datasets whose names include a copy group name
If replicating datasets between sites, allocate the same name of the datasets to these sites
If route lists and command devices are managed with BCM, allocate datasets of BCM config-
uration files
5. The following BCM setup operations need to be performed:
Identify DADIDs and prefixes used by Replication Manager and specify them as initialization
parameters for BCM Agent
Set up route lists and command devices to achieve either of the following:
(a) To retrieve or monitor C/T Delta with Replication Manager / BCM
(b) To discover volumes or perform pair operation on remote DKCs using local instances of
BCM (when no BCM exists on the secondary site)
For the MODE initialization parameter of BCM Agent, specify EDIT (the initial value is MON-
ITOR). This allows the management of copy groups from Replication Manager. (If a function
that updates a definition or changes a status is used when the startup mode is MONITOR,
an YKY727E error occurs in BCM Agent.)
The LOCK initialization parameter can also be set to manage conflicts between operations
performed by Replication Manager and HP StorageWorks P9000 for Business Continuity
Manager Software.
NOTE:
If you want to use an IPv6 connection or HTTPS (SSL) communication between RepMgr and
BCM, you must set up the IBM HTTP Server (IHS).
6. Ensure that all of the conditions below are satisfied:
The requirements (microcode and system configuration) of the storage system volume replication
functionality (such as Business Copy or Continuous Access) are satisfied. For details about
the requirements and the configuration procedures, see the storage system documentation for
the applicable storage system model.
The storage systems to which the primary and secondary volumes belong are registered as
management targets of Device Manager, and the applicable Device Manager server is re-
gistered as a Replication Manager information source.
The primary and secondary volumes are recognized individually from the hosts.
The serial numbers for all storage systems managed by Device Manager are unique.
For complete information, see the HP P9000 for Business Continuity Manager Software Installation
Guide and the HP P9000 for Business Continuity Manager Software User Guide, which include
respective chapters on setting up and using the BCM with Replication Manager.
