Update procedure for Linux
1. Confirm that the currently installed Replication Manager server is one of the applicable product
versions listed in “Prerequisites” (page 6).
2. Stop the following services:
• Command View Advanced Edition Suite products services
• Common Component

3. On the target machine, create a wording director and move to the directory as follows:
[/]# mkdir /tmp /work
[/]# cd /tmp /work
4. Copy the Linux update package to the working directory.
Perform all subsequent steps as a superuser.
5. Restore the update package using the gunzip and tar commands.
In the following example, the file patch.tar.gz is in the /tmp/work working directory.
[/tmp/work/]# gunzip /tmp/work/patch.tar.gz
[/tmp/work/]# tar -xvf /tmp/work/patch.tar
x UPDATE, ***** bytes, ** tape blocks
x PRODUCT.INI, ***** bytes, ** tape blocks
...
6. Execute the command UPDATE to apply the package that was restored in step 5.
The following message appears and the search for the target product is performed.
[/tmp/work/]# ./UPDATE
**********************************************************************
* Update Utility
**********************************************************************
[RepMgr 072003] Replication Manager
Now searching for target products...
If the target product is found, the following message appears:
[RepMgr 072001] is found.
Do you want to update? :
If you want to update the product, enter y.
If you want to stop the update, enter n.
7. Start the following services:
• Common Component
• Command View Advanced Edition Suite products services
