HP P9000 Tiered Storage Manager Software 7.4.0-00 Release Notes (TB585-96028, December 2012)

Releasing a data placement profile
Repairing inconsistency (Repairing an inconsistent data placement profile)
NOTE: The more target volumes that exist, the more inaccurate the estimate time becomes.
Stopping search inconsistency task (search inconsistent data placement profile task)
The stopping search inconsistency task operation is stopped immediately regardless of checking the
Stop the tasks immediately. check box.
Performance analysis
The performance of external parity groups cannot be analyzed.
This affects the following operations:
Selecting external parity groups from the Parity Groups tab for THP pools in the Mobility tab, and
then clicking the Analyze Performance button.
Selecting volumes whose migration targets are external parity groups from the Migration Pair
wizard in the Migration dialog box, and then clicking the Analyze Performance button.
Using XP P9000 Tiered Storage Manager CLI in a firewall environment
A KATS48000-E error message might occur when using the CLI interface on a client machine to
access an XP P9000 Tiered Storage Manager server under either of the following conditions:
The client and the server are separated by a firewall
You are using SSH communications between the client and the server
Note that if the Device Manager server uses the Windows operating system, this issue does not occur
when the following conditions are met:
Windows firewall is enabled.
Firewall exception of htsmService.exe is enabled.
Executing data migration
In the display window, check the task status and do the following:
If the executed migration task is not displayed in the task list, execute the operation again. If the
error occurs repeatedly, try specifying conditions that decrease the number of volumes satisfying
those conditions.
If the KAIC15001-E message is displayed when a Migration Task Details window of the executed
migration task is displayed, delete the migration task. Execute the operation again. If the error
occurs repeatedly, try specifying conditions that decrease the number of volumes satisfying those
conditions.
If the Migration Task Details window of the executed migration task is displayed, it is not necessary
to make the migration plan again.
KAIC05607-E or KAIC06400-E error during Migrate Data operation
If the KAIC05607-E or KAIC06400-E error occurs during a Migrate Data operation, some of the
configuration changes might be applied to the storage system. Therefore, the content of the Task Status
displayed in the Migration pairs table on a Task Detail dialog of Migrate Data might not correspond
to the configuration of the storage system.
If this occurs, refresh the storage system information and check the current storage system configuration.
After that, perform the Migrate Data operation again by following the recent Task Status and the
configuration of the storage system.
