Also, when the target host log gathering tool (TLC) is executed, the previous file and <any
character>-<1 to 6 digits number>.rst file (Size: about 250 + 50*disk number that
consists pool byte) might be created on the directory where the TLC command is executed.
Delete the file from the directory after registering hosts, updating host information, or running TLC.
Registering Solaris hosts with Host Data Collector
metastat_pXXXX.rst files created by Host Data Collector in the /tmp directory on the Solaris host
are not deleted after registering hosts or refresh is over.
Using Host Data Collector to register Linux, Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX
hosts
The cause in the error message is not displayed correctly if system locale on the target host is set to
a non-English language and character encoding other than UTF-8.
Using Host Data Collector to register HP-UX 11i v2 (IPF and PA-RISC)
and 11i v3 (PA-RISC) hosts
Registering or refreshing HP-UX 11i v2 (IPF and PA-RISC) and 11i v3 (PA-RISC) hosts times out if
a stale NFS mount exists on the target host. After that, registering hosts of the same target host fails
with the following error message. ERR_1202 : Unable to copy all the files to the
remote server. (Remote server: <Target host IP address>, Cause:Error
during SCP transfer.).
If the error occurs continuously, check whether a Host Data Collector binary process exists on the
target host by executing the ps -ef |grep /tmp/FsDataGather command. If the process
exists, delete all processes that are shown in the ps -ef grep /tmp/FsDataGather by
executing the kill -9 <process ID> command on the target host. After that unmount the stale
NFS and execute registering hosts or refresh hosts again.
Registering hosts failure by using Host Data Collector
Detailed error messages might not appear properly if host data resister using Host Data Collector
installed on a non-English version of Windows (such as Japanese) failed.
Displaying Host Data Collector information
When using host discovery with Host Data Collector, the following information cannot be displayed
correctly.
IPv6 address in Windows 2008 German Edition.
IPv6 address in Solaris and HP-UX environments if IPv4 address specified by a user for
registering host is an alias IP address.
IPv6 address in Linux environment if more than 2 IPv6 addresses are assigned to one
interface.
IPv6 address in Windows 2008 environment other than English language Edition (e.g.
Japanese).
On a UNIX host, if a file system is mounted to a directory that contains any of the following
characters, the file system usage percentage is not displayed correctly:
~!@#$%+{}|"<>?`=[]\;',.
Adding a host that has multiple IP addresses with Host Data Collector
When adding a host with multiple IP addresses to the Device Manager server, the first IP address
registered in the Device Manager server is added to the host. At this time, error messages are
displayed for IP addresses other than the first one. Ignore the error messages.
