Configuration changes of a storage system
When a configuration is changed while refreshing a P9500 or XP storage systems, the configuration
changes might fail with the KAIC05000-E error message if the operation to refresh the storage
system fails.
If this behavior occurs, retry the configuration changes.
When the Device Manager server is installed on a Linux server with 33
or more IP Addresses assigned
If the Device Manager server is installed on a Linux server with 33 or more IP addresses assigned,
logging on Device Manager fails.
Reduce the number of IP addresses assigned to the server.
Switching the JDK
To use Oracle Sun JDK 5 (1.5.0) or Oracle Sun JDK 6 (1.6.0) instead of the bundled one, add its
java.exe to the Windows Firewall exceptions list manually if the Windows Firewall is enabled.
Launching Element Manager by using a 32-bit browser in a 64-bit
Windows environment
To launch Element Manager from a XP12000, XP10000, SVS200, XP1024, or XP128 with a 32-bit
browser in a 64-bit Windows environment, install the 32-bit java plug-in, and then set the value in the
storage system manual to 32-bit java plug-in.
If an error message such as an out-of-memory error is displayed and Element Manager cannot be
launched, check the settings of the 32-bit java plug-in.
Managing storage systems that exceed the resource limit when
CIM/WBEM functionality is used
If storage systems that exceed the resource limit are managed when CIM/WBEM functionality is
used, set server.cim.support property in the server.properties file to false to make the
CIM/WBEM functionality disable.
See the manual HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Software
Administrator Guide about the resource limit and the details of the property file.
Executing tasks
If an operation (such as the user is locked, the user's permissions are changed, or the user is
deleted) is performed to the user who registers a task, the task execution is not cancelled. Likewise,
even if the user group that the user belongs to or authorized resource groups are changed, the task
execution is still not cancelled. Check the status of all tasks, and then cancel the task manually. If
the task is not cancelled, the task might fail.
Setting and using storage resource access control
If any of the following operations are performed, and then other Device Manager operations are
performed, the windows might be displayed incorrectly or an KAIC15001-E error might occur. In this
case, restart the Device Manager Server.
Storage resource access control is simultaneously specified for multiple users.
When resource group settings and the configuration change from the Device Manager CLI,
Tiered Storage Manager, or Replication Manager are performed at one time for the same
resource.
The operation to set storage resource access control for storage resources are performed, and it
fails.
