When an overwrite installation of Host Data Collector is performed, the system prompts you to
specify a new installation path and port number. Specify the same installation path and port
number used in the previous installation.
Upgrading Host Data Collector
Upgrading resets the port number used by Host Data Collector to the default (23051).
Upgrading Host Data Collector in a Windows environment
If Host Data Collector is upgraded in a Windows environment in which the path of the environment
variable tmp includes characters other than the following, Host Data Collector does not start:
A-Z a-z 0-9 space ~@#$^&()_+{}`-=[]'.,%!,
In this case, before upgrading Host Data Collector, or if Host Data Collector has already been
upgraded, uninstall it as described, and then install it again:
(1) Open Command Prompt.
(2) Execute the following command:
<installation-directory-of-Device-Manager>\Host Data
Collector\Uninstall_Host Data Collector\Uninstall Host Data Collector.exe
If Host Data Collector is upgraded without removing it first, remove Host Data Collector according to
the previousprocedure, and then install Host Data Collector again.
Removing Host Data Collector
The following files or directories might remain after Host Data Collector on a Solaris or Linux host is
removed.
In this case, delete them manually after removing Host Data Collector.
<installation-directory>/Winexe
<installation-directory>/HostDataCollector/conf/HDCPid.dat
Host Data Collector can be re-installed even if these files or directories remain.
The sudo function for Host Data Collector
When using sudo to register or refresh UNIX hosts, the following error message might appear
repeatedly:
ERR_1202 : Unable to copy all the files to the remote server. (Remote
server: "IP address of target host", Cause: Error during SCP transfer.)
In this case, delete the following files from the /tmp directory, and then retry the operation:
SupportedOs.txt
FsDataGather.*
FsDataGatherLauncher.Unix.sh
When using sudo to register or refresh a Solaris host, if "stty erase ^H" is enabled for .bashrc,
the following error message appears and the operation fails:
ERR_1205 : Task execution failed. (Cause: bash: sudo: command not
found)
When using sudo to register or refresh a Solaris host, do not enable "stty erase ^H" for .bashrc.
