Registering hosts using Host Data Collector
If the account used for registering of Windows hosts was a domain account, the Windows UPN
format (user-name@domain-name) could not be used. Use the domain-name\user-name
format.
The length of the password for the account used for registering hosts could not be 129 or more
characters.
If you are registering a Windows host that belongs to a Windows domain, use Windows Service
Management protocol for registering hosts.
When WMI protocol is used for registering hosts of Windows target host, use the Administrator
account.
Also, Host Data Collector cannot obtain host information in any of the following cases. Install Device
Manager agent on the target host.
The target host has multipath iSCSI volumes
In the HP-UX host, when either of the following characters is included in a logical volume name:
@#$%^&*()_+{}|:"<>?`-=[]\;',.
The target host is Solaris, Linux, or HP-UX and more than 256 volumes are attached in the host.
Host Data Collector cannot acquire host information for a HP-UX host whose volume group
name includes any of the following characters:
@#$%^&*()_+{}|:"<>?`-=[]\;',.
Host Data Collector cannot acquire host information for an AIX host that has a device renamed
with the rendev command, because that device information cannot be acquired.
Using Host Data Collector to register UNIX hosts
If a user who is using a login shell other than the default shell registers or refreshes hosts, the
operation might fail with the ERR_1310 error message. The user ,must use the default login shell.
Using Host Data Collector to register Windows hosts
To use the WMI protocol to register Windows hosts with Host Data Collector, specify the firewall
settings on the target hosts to allow WMI so that the WMI protocol can be used from the host on
which Host Data Collector is installed.
Using Host Data Collector to register Windows hosts on a Solaris or
Linux server
If using Host Data Collector on a Solaris or Linux server to register or refresh a Windows host fails
with the ERR_1202 message, retry registering or refreshing the host.
ERR_1202 : Unable to copy all the files to the remote server. (Remote
server: <IP_ADDRESS_OF_TARGET_HOST>, Cause: session setup failed: Call
timed out: server did not respond after 20000 milliseconds Receiving SMB:
Server stopped responding)
Using Host Data Collector on a Solaris 9 host
CPU usage of a Solaris 9 server installed with Host Data Collector might increase to 100% when a
Windows registering hosts is executed. If this occurs, reboot the server.
Using Host Data Collector to register a Solaris 10 host
When a ZFS pool name whose length is 99 bytes or more, a zpool_history_<zfs pool
name>-<1 to 6 digits number>.rst file whose file size is 0 byte is created in the /tmp
directory whenever registering hosts or update host information is executed on Solaris 10 host.
