A full license is required to use all Device Manager functions. The types of full licenses are as
follows: permanent, temporary, emergency, and meter-based term.
Core CLI/SMI-S license:
The Core CLI/SMI-S license enables you to use only storage management functions that use the
Device Manager CLI. With the Core CLI/SMI-S license, you cannot use storage management
functions from the GUI.
The following table shows the differences in functions between the Core CLI/SMI-S license and a full
license:

If the Core CLI/SMI-S license is used to log in, only the items re-
lated to user management in the Administration tab are displayed.
Users with the Core CLI/SMI-S license can use only the functions
displayed in the Administration tab.
GUI
The logical group command (GetLogicalGroup) cannot be
used.
Device Manager CLI
Same as for a full licenseDevice Manager server

If the Device Manager license is the Core CLI/SMI-S license, you
can only use the following product:
Replication Manager software
Linkage with other HP P9000 Command
View Advanced Edition Suite (P9000
Command View AE Suite) products that
require Device Manager
If the license keys registered in Device Manager include one or more full licenses, Device Manager
operates in full license mode. To check the type of the license registered in Device Manager, perform
one of the following:
Use the GUI to check the license information.
Execute the Device Manager CLI command GetServerInfo.
