DescriptionStatusParameter name
Buffer space for hardware tier relocation (%)
Specify how much work space the storage system can use
for data relocation for each hardware tier of a Smart pool.
You can specify an integer from 2 to 40. If this parameter
is omitted, 2 is set for all tiers. HP recommends that you use
the default values.
The following uses a three-tier Smart pool as an example
of how to specify this parameter.
To specify all tiers:
Specify a set of values such as 4,6,8 for all tiers,
starting with tier 1, by using commas (,) as separators.
To specify specific tiers only:
Specify the target tiers only, starting with tier 1, by us-
ing commas (,) as separators. Note that the comma
before a specified value cannot be omitted. If you do
not specify this parameter, 2 is set for the omitted tiers.
For example, if you want to specify tier 2 only, specify
a value such as ,6 to omit the specifications for tier 1
and tier 3.
You can specify this parameter in the following situations:
When creating a Smart pool
When the microcode version is 70-02-50-XX/XX or later

#1
If you specify threshold values for overprovisioningwarning and overprovisioninglim-
it, two warning levels related to the over-provisioning percent can be issued. For
XP24000/XP20000, these threshold values are specific to and managed by the Device Manager
server.
#2
The over-provisioning percent is the percentage of the total size of all THP/Smart volumes with
respect to the THP/Smart pool size. For example, if the THP pool size is 500 GB and the total
size of all THP volumes is 400 GB, the threshold value is 80 %.
#3
There must be an interval of at least one hour between the times specified for monitorstarttime
and monitorendtime. The same time cannot be specified for monitorstarttime and
monitorendtime.
Parameter values to obtain in advance
serialnum and model
Obtain these values from the execution result of the GetStorageArray command. In the execution
result, use the arrayType value or the displayArrayType value to specify the model para-
meter, and use the serialNumber value to specify the serialnum parameter.
devnums
Obtain this value from the execution result of the GetStorageArray (subtarget=Logic-
alUnit, lusubinfo=LDEV) command. Execute this command by specifying only the model
and serialnum parameters, LogicalUnit for the subtarget parameter, and LDEV for the
lusubinfo parameter. In the execution result of this command, the devNum value of Logic-
alUnit appears under An instance of LogicalUnit. Use the devNum value of a logical
