• The Device Manager GUI now supports the following functionality related to volume virtualization.
In the Virtualize Volumes dialog box, you can select the target volumes to virtualize◦
◦ In the Virtualize Volumes dialog box, you can now search and virtualize the volumes in the
external storage system that is connected to an external port. This allows you to virtualize
volumes that are not managed by the Device Manager.
The supported internal storage system is HP XP P9500 Storage.
◦ In the External Storage GUI, the Available External Volumes tab is now combined with the
External Volumes tab.
◦ The virtualized volume can now be unvirtualized.
• The Device Manager now supports the creation and expansion of the THP/Smart pool with mixed
RAID levels as long as the media are of the same drive types and run at the same speed (RPM).
The supported internal storage system is HP XP P9500 Storage.
