HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.4 Troubleshooting and FAQs Guide (T1789-96336, April 2012)

Resolution
Ensure that the antivirus software installed on the management station has not blocked the HP
StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Security service. Refer to the online help manual provided
for the respective antivirus software to identify whether the P9000 Performance Advisor service is
blocked and the steps for unblocking the service.
Cause
The HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat service might not have started after the
installation.
Resolution
If you see the following error message when you log on to P9000 Performance Advisor:
HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat services may not be
started!
Complete the following steps to start the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat
service:
1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options.
2. In the Connections tab, click LAN Settings.
3. In the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog box, click Advanced.
4. In the Exceptions box, type the IP address or fully qualified domain name of the management
station.
If you are accessing the P9000 Performance Advisor installed on a Windows Server 2003 R2
Enterprise X64 Edition SP2 management station, where JRE v1.6 is installed, the HP StorageWorks
P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat service might not have started. This issue is observed on a
Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise X64 Edition SP2 management station, where JRE v1.6 is
installed. Complete the following steps to start the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor
Tomcat service:
1. Select Start > Run and type services.msc.
The Services dialog box appears.
2. Right-click HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat service and select Start
from the drop-down list.
Cause
The Login screen is not displayed in certain browser environments. This occurs when the P9000
Performance Advisor browser client starts, and P9000 Performance Advisor does not recognize that
Java Plug-in 1.5 is installed.
Resolution
To clear the Java Plug-in cache:
1. Close all web browser application windows
2. Open the Windows Control Panel, and click Java Plug-in
3. In the Java Plug-in Control Panel dialog, click the Cache tab
4. Click Clear
5. In the Confirmation Needed - Cache dialog, click Yes
6. Close the Java Plug-in Control Panel dialog box
