HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.4 Troubleshooting and FAQs Guide (T1789-96336, April 2012)

The following warning message is displayed in the Array Performance report
that I generated. What does it indicate?
WARNING: License violation was detected for this array.
This report may not capture performance data about the
recent configuration changes made in the XP/P9000 disk
array. Please purchase the required Performance Advisor
licenses immediately.
This warning message is displayed in every report that you generate for an XP or a P9000 disk array,
when both the following conditions are met:
Grace period of 60 days expires
Permanent license of the required internal raw disk capacity for an XP disk array or the usable
capacity for a P9000 disk array is not installed
You must purchase, generate, and install a permanent license, equal to the XP disk arrays internal
raw capacity or the P9000 disk array's usable capacity, if you want P9000 Performance Advisor to
monitor the new configuration changes for the XP or the P9000 disk array.
I have not received the product entitlement certificate and the registration number
along with the P9000 Performance Advisor v4.5 media kit. What should be the
process followed to get the product registration number after an upgrade to v4.5
or later version?
In order to receive the product entitlement certificate and the registration number, complete the following
steps:
1. Enter the required information in the P9000 Performance Advisor License Entitlement
Request text file. By default, the P9000 Performance Advisor License Entitlement
Request text file is located in the %HPSS_HOME%\data\keys folder, if you have upgraded to
P9000 Performance Advisor v4.5. HP uses the information from this text file to process the regis-
tration number request.
2. Send an email to HP at americas_password@cnd.hp.com requesting a registration number for
the P9000 Performance Advisor LTUs that you are entitled to use. Provide the P9000 Perform-
ance Advisor License Entitlement Request text file as an attachment to your email.
Can I use the same registration number to generate permanent licenses for mul-
tiple XP or P9000 disk arrays?
No. Registration numbers can only be used one time. The P9000 Performance Advisor entitlement
certificate is generic. You can use the registration number included in the entitlement certificate to
generate a permanent license for any XP or P9000 disk array serial number. After the registration
number is associated with a specific XP or P9000 disk array serial number, it cannot be further
associated with another XP or P9000 disk array serial number.
Can I use the license key that is generated for an XP or P9000 disk array to
monitor another array?
No. When a license key is generated, it is locked to the specific XP or P9000 disk array hardware
platform and serial number; it cannot be used with another XP or P9000 disk array.
