Introduction
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor uses Oracle as its database. When HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor is installed, all the database related files are also automatically installed on the management
station. A default disk space of 3 GB is allocated from the management station's available disk
space to HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor database. If you upgraded from a previous version
of HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor to the current version, the management station's available
disk space is automatically allocated to the database that is migrated during the upgrade process.
You can manage HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor database in the following ways:
Configure the database size manually, where you allocate the available disk space on your
management station to HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor database
Configure HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor to automatically determine and allocate the
available disk space on your management station to the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
database (Auto Grow)
Purge data that belongs to an XP or a P9000 disk array, or data older than the specified date
Purge data automatically, where HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor will purge the oldest data
in its database to accommodate new data
Archive data from HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor database
Import data into HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor database
Generate or schedule Export DB reports, and also view records for the Export DB files
The above-mentioned activities can be performed on the Database Manager screen.
WARNING! The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor database is a stand-alone database designed
to run only with HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor and not with any other application. Therefore,
only supported and documented HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor utilities, tools, and integrated
features such as configuring, purging, archiving, and backing up and restoring data should be
used to maintain it. Standard Oracle database management tools and facilities should not be used
to manage or monitor the database.
