NOTE:
For the XP24000/XP20000/XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array, configure the command devices
as SLPR0 to report the full SLPR data.
For the XP24000 Disk Array and the P9000 disk arrays, you can also configure the ThP VVols
as command devices.
The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Windows and UNIX host agents can coexist with the
RAID Manager.

Logging into XP Remote Web Console through XP Command View AE
Complete the following steps to log onto the XP Remote Web Console:
1. Open an IE browser window and enter http://<ip_address>:23015/DeviceManager/
address in the browser address line to access the XP Command View AE Device Manager.
NOTE: If you are using a secured connection, the port number is different and the URL format
is as follows:
http://<ip_address>:23016/DeviceManager/
2. In the Login window, enter the user name as system and the password as manager, and
click Login.
3. In the Command View XP AE Device Manager window, click the Resources tab in the CV AE
Device Manager Explorer navigation pane.
4. Click the Subsystems node and select the subsystem for which you want to create the command
device. (The individual subsystems are displayed in the Subsystems navigation pane, which
is on the right side of the Explorer navigation pane.)
5. Click Physical View to launch the Remote Web Console with administrator privileges.
Creating a command device for the XP24000/XP20000/XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array
After logging into the XP Remote Web Console (see “Logging into XP Remote Web Console through
XP Command View AE” (page 39)), complete the following steps to create a command device:
1. In the XP RWC window, click GO+LUN Manager+LU Path and Security. A list of LDEVs appears.
2. Right-click the LDEV that you want to convert into a command device.
3. Select Enable\Disable from the drop-down list.
4. Click Apply to save the changes and enable the selected LDEV as a command device.
CAUTION: The volume designated as the command device is used only by the disk array and
is blocked from the user. Because the volume you select as a command device becomes unavailable
to the host, HP recommends that you use a volume that does not contain data or mounted files.
The command device can be any device that is accessible to the host.

After logging into the XP Remote Web Console (see “Logging into XP Remote Web Console through
XP Command View AE” (page 39)), complete the following steps to create a command device:
