Selecting complete or custom installation method
Use either of the following methods to install HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor:
• Complete installation method: Requires at least 8 GB of free disk space on your
<Windows_Volume>. In this installation method, the associated components or program
features are also copied to the management station along with the HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor files. The program features are the operating platform specific host agents, the CLUI,
HP XP P9000Watch, HP XP P9000Sketch, and HP XP P9000Info. After the installation is
complete, download the host agents and tools from the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
Support screen.
For more information on downloading and installing host agents and HP XP P9000Info software,
see “Downloading the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents and HP XP P9000Info
software” (page 71). For more information on downloading and installing the CLUI, HP XP
P9000Watch, and the HP XP P9000Sketch, see the respective documents. For document
download location, see “Related information” (page 116).
NOTE: It is recommended to ensure that up to 50 GB of free space is available on the drive
where PADB is installed, for additional database operations. This space may or may not be
utilized.
IMPORTANT:
◦ After installing HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor, the host agents, CLUI, HP XP
P9000Watch, and the HP XP P9000Sketch are available in the
<Installation_Drive>:\HPSS\pa\tomcat\webapps\pa\tools folder on your
management station.
◦ The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents are also available on the HP XP
P9000 Performance Advisor installation disk 2. From the HA folder, copy the operating
platform specific HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agent file that you want to install
to the respective host and double click the file (.tar) to begin installation. For more
information, see “Installing P9000 Performance Advisor host agents” (page 71).
◦ The CLUI, HP XP P9000Watch, HP XP P9000Sketch, and the HP XP P9000Info are also
available in the Tools folder on the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor installation disk
2.
• Custom installation type: Copies only the program features that you want to download and
use. In this installation method, only the chosen program features are copied to the management
station along with the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor files. After the installation is complete,
only these program features are made available for download from the HP XP P9000
Performance Advisor Support screen. This is useful because limited disk space is used for
copying the program features.
